Mr Daniel Baird is a leading general and colorectal consultant surgeon based in Goring-by-Sea, Worthing, who specialises in inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia and laparoscopic inguinal repair alongside anal fistula, anal fissure and piles (haemmorhoids). He privately practises at Goring Hall Hospital and the Oving Clinic, while his NHS base is at Worthing Hospital, part of University Hospitals Sussex Trust. 

Mr Baird is highly qualified, with an MB ChB from the University of Manchester, a FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons and an MD (Res) from Imperial College London. He undertook his specialist surgical training in London at The Royal Marsden Hospital, St Marks Hospital and Imperial Healthcare Trust, alongside the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

He also completed an RCS accredited laparoscopic cancer fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital where he was exposed the Da Vinci and CMR Versius robotic operation platforms. He worked as a consultant at Frimley Park prior to his current permanent posts.                   

Mr Baird, who also operates on inflammatory bowel disease and diverticular disease, has a subspecialty interest in treating fistulae-in-ano and pilonidal sinus disease using the minimally-invasive techniques VAAFT/EPSiT techniques. His clinical research has been published in respected peer-reviewed journals including the British Medical Journal and the Annals of Surgery.

Professor Hesham Saleh is a highly accomplished, leading London-based consultant rhinologist and facial plastic surgeon who specialises in rhinoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, rhinology, anterior skull-base surgery, orbital decompression, as well as lacrimal surgery. He currently practises at the Charing Cross Hospital and the Harley ENT Practice. 

The esteemed Professor Saleh successfully completed his FRCS (ENT) in 1995, before going on to obtain a FRCS (ORL-HNS) four years later, in 1999. He notably featured in The Times'  top 140 doctors list and was elected in their top 50 surgeons list. He is regularly invited as an international expert in rhinoplasty and rhinology at conferences worldwide and serves as Professor of Practice in Rhinology at Imperial College. He forms an integral part of a myriad of professional bodies including the Royal Society of Medicine, for which he is the past president of the section of Laryngology and Rhinology.

He also has vast experience in the management of urological cancers, management of erectile dysfunction and penile curvature (Peyronie’s disease), management of female urinary incontinence, as well as management of general urological conditions.

Mr Mohammed has undergone extensive training in both the UK and abroad, having worked in major university hospitals in the East Midlands and the West of Scotland, before undertaking  Uro-oncology research at the University of Toronto, Canada. He is both UK and European Board of Urology certified and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr Zbigniew M Kirkor is an extensively trained and highly skilled consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine. 

As a specialist in interventional pain management and regenerative orthopaedics, Dr Kirkor provides patients with relief from spine pain, musculoskeletal pain, neck instability and discogenic pain. He is one of the few specialists to provide platelet-rich plasma injections for the treatment of neck instability and cervicogenic headaches. What's more, he has developed his own original treatment method for degenerated discs, involving regenerative injection and pulsed radiofrequency stimulation.

Dr Kirkor graduated from the medical university in Gdansk (Poland). In the following years, he obtained his PhD in 1996 and achieved a successful career as a physician and academic. In 2005, he relocated to the UK and practised at several hospitals, including the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he set up a chronic pain clinic. In 2010, he became the clinical lead for pain services at the Shrewsbury & Telford Hospital NHS Trust and remained so for over ten years.

In 2018, Dr Kirkor founded the Algocells clinic with his friend and colleague Dr Martynas Juozaitis. They created this clinic in affiliation with Regenexx, the renowned pioneering regenerative orthopaedic organisation from the United States. Algocells focuses on regenerative medicine (stem cells and platelet-rich plasma) for musculoskeletal conditions and spine pain, and is the first Regenexx service in the UK.

He is also an experienced medicolegal expert witness in his area of expertise and has provided medicolegal services since 2011. Furthermore, Dr Kirkor is involved in regenerative orthopaedic research and his work has been published in scientific peer-reviewed medical journals. He has also presented his research at numerous conferences.

Dr Amran is skilled in undertaking ultrasound guided pleural aspiration, which she regularly undertakes, as well as insertion of chest drains, insertion and removal of indwelling pleural catheters. She also works with COPD patients for lung volume reduction and generally manages about 20 to 30 respiratory patients per day.

Dr Amran is a respected name in academic circles and is a supervisor for medical students from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Anglia Ruskin School of Medicine. She supervises all grades of trainee junior doctors and conducts appraisals for consultants and associate specialists. She is also actively involved in all levels of local and national recruitment from medical students and junior doctors, to higher specialty trainees and respiratory medicine consultants.

Mr Toufan Bahrami is a leading senior consultant in cardiac surgery at the forefront of innovations in his field, based in London. He is nationally and internationally renowned for his expertise in various types of minimally-invasive and endoscopic keyhole cardiac procedures, including mitral, aortic, root and CABG surgeries as well as his wealth of experience in heart and lung transplantations and mechanical circulatory support and reoperation for complex heart operations.

Mr Bahrami trained and qualified as a doctor at Paris’ Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital, winning the first place in the French national examination for medical specialisation, le concour d’internat. He worked with Professor Alain Carpentier (pioneer of the technique of mitral valve repair).

He then relocated to the UK to undergo further training and went on to work as a consultant in cardiac surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital, St Bartholomew's Hospital and the London Chest Hospital. Since 2001, Mr Bahrami has been based at the Harefield Hospital where he worked with Sir Professor Magdi Yacoub and then pioneered and led the minimally-invasive and endoscopic cardiac surgery program, including mitral valve repair surgery since 2010. Additionally, he is an honorary consultant at four other NHS hospitals in Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.

Mr Bahrami has been at the forefront of developments in endoscopic minimally invasive heart surgery and mitral valve repair for many years. He was the first surgeon in the UK to perform endoscopic vein harvesting surgery and mini thoracotomy aortic valve replacement. He was also the first surgeon worldwide to perform a minimally-invasive artificial heart implantation in 2009, and, multiple valve surgery that is endoscopically assisted as well as coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG) through minimal access. He also pioneered and regularly performs CABG through a mini incision on the left side of the chest whilst the heart is beating (MIDCAB).

Having performed over 4000 procedures, of which over 1500 are minimally-invasive cardiac surgeries over the past twenty two years, Mr Bahrami is regarded as one of the UK’s leading cardiac surgeons. He regularly takes on high risk and complex cases, with excellent outcomes for patients. Mr Bahrami is passionate about offering highly-personalised care tailored to each patient’s needs. Each case is thoroughly reviewed by himself and his multi-disciplinary team in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients. In 2021, he was appointed as a consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgical oncology and reconstruction at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Alongside his surgical and clinical commitments, Mr Sanchez-Ballester holds a number of senior positions in medical education, including as a member of the examiners panel of the intercollegiate speciality examination in trauma and orthopaedics and as an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Liverpool.

Mr Sanchez-Ballester is an appointed member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee and is additionally a fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association.
